Terms of use
The agreement between you and Invercible LLC for Margin Machine, including the dashboard, the setup we do for you, and this website. It is also the end user license agreement for the Margin Machine app, including when it connects to QuickBooks Online or Shopify.
Effective September 29, 2026. Last updated September 29, 2026.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Margin Machine is provided by Invercible LLC, a California limited liability company ("Invercible", "we", "us"). These terms cover the Margin Machine dashboard and app, the setup and support we provide with it (together, the "Service"), and the website at marginmachine.app.
You accept these terms when you sign an order with us, agree to them at checkout, or click to agree when you first sign in to your dashboard or connect an account to it. These terms also apply to your use of this website. If you use the Service for a business, "you" means that business, and you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for it.
Our privacy policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. If an order you sign with us says something different from these terms, the order wins for that point, except that it cannot reduce the protections sections 13 and 14 give Intuit and Shopify.
2. Who can use the Service
The Service is for businesses and the people who run them. You must be at least 18 years old and use the Service for business purposes, not personal or household ones.
3. What the Service is
Margin Machine is a private profit dashboard for your business. We set it up for you and connect it to the tools and files you choose, such as Google Sheets, CSV files and amounts you type in, and, where those connections are available to you, Shopify, Meta ads and QuickBooks Online. Each client gets a separate dashboard with its own database.
The dashboard only reads from the accounts you connect. We do not use those connections to create, change or delete anything in your store, ad account or books. If setup needs a helper tab in one of your spreadsheets, we add it only with your permission.
We improve the Service over time, so features can change. We will give you reasonable notice before removing a feature you rely on in a paid plan.
4. Not accounting, tax, legal or financial advice
The dashboard organizes numbers that come from your connected sources and the entries you make. It is a tool for understanding your business, not accounting, bookkeeping, tax, legal, investment or financial advice, and it does not replace your accountant or your books.
Every figure is only as complete and accurate as the data behind it. Margin Machine does not fill a missing number with a guess; where it shows an estimate, such as a month's pace, it labels it as one. It cannot know about a sale or a cost that was never recorded anywhere it reads. A month marked "Verified" means the checks available for your connected sources passed for that month. It is not an audit, and it does not promise that your records are complete.
You are responsible for the decisions you make using the Service. Please confirm anything important, such as taxes, loans, pricing or large purchases, with a qualified professional.
5. Your sign-in and your team
Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us right away if you think someone has used your dashboard without permission. The owner of a dashboard decides who else can sign in to it and can turn support access on or off, as described on our security page. Our own administrative access is described in section 11 of our privacy policy. You are responsible for what happens under the sign-ins you allow.
6. Connecting your accounts
- The Service uses third-party services, such as Shopify, Meta, Google, Intuit (QuickBooks) and Stripe (together, "Third-Party Services"). To use the parts of the Service that read data from a Third-Party Service, you authorize that provider, including Intuit, to obtain your data from third parties, such as your bank, and to share it with us for the Service. You also agree that we may provide your data to that provider when the Service needs to. That data can include financial or personal information.
- You confirm that you have the rights and authority to give us and those providers these authorizations, and to let us read the data in each account and file you connect.
- Your use of each Third-Party Service is governed by that provider's own terms, which you are responsible for reviewing, and is limited to what that provider allows. We do not control Third-Party Services, and a provider may suspend or end your access to its service at any time, for any reason, at its own discretion. If that happens, or if a provider changes, limits or ends our access, the matching part of the Service may stop working until the connection is fixed.
- You can end our access to a connected account at any time from inside that account, for example by removing the app, revoking the token or un-sharing the sheet.
7. Your data
Your business data ("Customer Data") belongs to you. You give us permission to host, copy, process and display it only to provide, secure and support the Service for you, and as our privacy policy describes. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your business data to advertise to anyone.
What happens to your data when the Service ends is set out in the privacy policy. You can ask us for a copy of your data at any time before your Service ends and within 90 days after it ends.
You are responsible for the security of data on your own website and systems and otherwise in your possession or control, and for following the laws that apply to how you collect, secure and share personal, financial, card and transaction information there, including the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA DSS) where they apply.
8. Fees, billing and cancellation
- Price. Your fees are the ones shown in your order or at checkout, which may include a one-time setup fee and a monthly subscription. Prices do not include taxes; you pay any sales or similar tax that applies.
- Billing. Payments are processed by Stripe. The subscription is billed in advance and renews each month until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time by email or text using the contact details below. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then.
- Refunds. Fees already paid are not refunded, except where your order or a written guarantee from us says otherwise, or where the law requires a refund.
- Minimum commitment. If your order includes a minimum term, for example 12 months, in exchange for a waived or reduced setup fee, and you cancel before that term ends, the setup fee that was waived becomes due, as your order states.
- Price changes. We will tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails and is not fixed after we tell you, we may pause syncing or access until it is.
- Free pilots. If we provide the Service to you free of charge, for example as a pilot, these terms still apply, and either of us can end the free Service at any time.
9. Acceptable use
You and your employees will not, and will not let anyone else, directly or indirectly:
- reverse engineer, decrypt, decompile, decode or disassemble the software, or otherwise try to obtain its source code;
- rent, lease or time-share the Service, or host it in a multi-tenant environment;
- remove or destroy any copyright notice, proprietary marking or confidentiality legend in the Service;
- interfere with, disrupt, damage or access without authorization the servers, networks or other property or services of any third party;
- use the Service, or data provided through it, for any criminal, fraudulent or other unlawful purpose, or in a way that breaks anyone else's rights;
- connect or upload data you do not have the right to share with us;
- try to reach another client's data, or test, probe or attack the security of the Service;
- copy, resell or sublicense the Service, or copy its code into another product;
- overload the Service or interfere with how it runs.
You must follow the laws and regulations that apply to your use of the Service, including any data provided through it.
10. Our software
We own the Margin Machine software, design and content. While your Service is active, we give you a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use it for your business under these terms. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
11. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service running and your data current, but we do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. Maintenance, outages at our hosting provider, and changes or outages at the services you connect can affect it.
12. Suspension and ending the Service
You can stop using the Service at any time, as described in section 8. We may suspend or end your Service if you do not pay after we remind you, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if your use creates a security risk, or if the law requires it. We may also stop offering the Service to you for any other reason with 30 days' notice; in that case we refund any fees you prepaid for the time after it ends.
If your access ends because fees were not paid, we will tell you that your data will be deleted if you do not retrieve it within 90 days. The privacy policy describes when data is deleted in other cases.
Sections 4, 7, 8, 10 and 13 through 20 continue to apply after the Service ends.
13. QuickBooks Online terms
These terms apply to you whenever you use the Service with QuickBooks Online, in addition to everything above. Intuit Inc. requires them of apps that connect to QuickBooks.
- Data use. Anonymous, aggregate information, made up of financial account balances, other financial account data or other available data provided to you, may be used by our third-party vendors to conduct analytical research, performance tracking and benchmarking. Those vendors may publish summary or aggregate results relating to metrics made up of research data from time to time, and distribute or license such anonymous, aggregated research data for any purpose, including helping to improve products and services and assisting in troubleshooting and technical support. Your personal information will not be shared with or sold to unauthorized third parties. This data-use term covers only data from QuickBooks Online; we never use data from Shopify or Google this way, and we do not currently share any data with vendors for research.
- Data transfer. You agree and acknowledge that Customer Data, including personal information, may be transferred to a third party located in a country that does not have adequate security controls to protect your data.
- Third-Party Services. Section 6 applies, including your authorization for Intuit to obtain your data and share it with us, and your promise that you have the authority to give it.
- Security. Section 7's last paragraph applies: you are fully responsible for the security of data on your own website or otherwise in your possession or control.
- Restrictions. The restrictions in section 9 apply to you and your employees.
- Third-party beneficiary. You acknowledge that Intuit is a third-party beneficiary of these terms, with rights to enforce them.
- Stopping data. Intuit may, at your request, stop providing your data to us at any time.
- Disclaimer. Section 15 applies to the Service, to Intuit and QuickBooks as Third-Party Services, and to any data provided through them.
- Not Intuit's product. We, not Intuit, license Margin Machine to you and provide its support. Margin Machine is not certified by Intuit, and Intuit does not guarantee its performance.
QuickBooks and QB are registered trademarks and service marks of Intuit Inc., displayed under license.
14. Shopify terms
These terms apply whenever you connect a Shopify store to the Service:
- As between you, us and Shopify, we, Invercible LLC, are solely responsible for the Margin Machine app.
- Shopify is not liable for any fault in the app or any harm that may result from its installation or use.
- Shopify cannot help you install or use the app, except where Shopify expressly says otherwise. Contact us instead.
- As between you, us and Shopify, we are solely responsible for any liability that may arise from your access to or use of the app, including the development, use, marketing, distribution, support of or access to the app, and our access to, use, distribution or storage of your store's data. Section 16 still limits what we owe you.
Nothing in these terms stops you from building or using products that compete with ours, from doing business with anyone, or ties you to us beyond the term of your order.
15. Disclaimers
You acknowledge and agree that the Service, this website, any Third-Party Services and any data provided through them are provided "as is" and "as available". We, our licensors and third-party service providers make no warranty, express, implied or statutory, and disclaim all warranties about them, in whole or in part, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any figure it shows is complete or correct. You use the Service, Third-Party Services and data provided through them at your sole risk. If there is any liability in connection with the Service, including liability arising from a security incident, from our failure to comply with laws or regulations, or from data privacy protection, that liability is solely ours and not that of our licensors or third-party service providers, including Intuit and Shopify, as between us and them; section 16 still limits what we owe you.
16. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, including losses from decisions made using the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service or these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim, or 100 US dollars if you paid nothing.
These limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct or gross negligence. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply to you only as far as your law allows.
17. Indemnity
If someone else brings a claim against us because data you connected or uploaded was not yours to share, because you broke these terms, or because you broke the law or a Third-Party Service's terms, you will cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including reasonable legal fees and any amount we are ordered to pay. This does not cover claims caused by our own breach of these terms, our negligence, or a security incident on our side.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. If a dispute comes up, please contact us first; we will try in good faith to resolve it with you within 30 days. If we cannot, the dispute will be decided by the state or federal courts located in California, and both of us agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may bring a claim in small claims court instead, if it qualifies.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the dates at the top of this page, and for a material change we will tell current clients by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, the updated terms apply. If you do not agree with a change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
20. General terms
- These terms, your order and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
- You may not transfer these terms without our written consent. We may transfer them to a company that takes over the Service.
- If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- If we do not enforce a term right away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
- Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.
- You agree that we can send you notices and agreements electronically, by email or through the Service.
