Privacy policy
What information Invercible LLC collects through this website and through Margin Machine dashboards, what we do with it, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We have tried to describe what actually happens, including the parts that are less flattering.
Effective September 29, 2026. Last updated October 5, 2026.
1. The short version
- Invercible LLC ("we", "us") runs this website and the Margin Machine service. We are a small business based in California.
- We do not sell personal information for money, and we never share your business data for advertising. This website does share browsing information with Meta for advertising, as section 2 explains.
- The Margin Machine dashboard contains no third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
- This marketing website uses analytics (PostHog, including session recordings) and the Meta pixel to measure and improve our ads. Section 2 explains what they collect, and section 12 explains how to opt out.
- We store your account information and business data in the United States.
2. Information from this website
When you visit marginmachine.app, these tools run in your browser:
- PostHog analytics. PostHog records the pages you view, your clicks and other interactions, your browser and device type, the page that referred you, your IP address and an approximate location based on it. It also records sessions so we can see how the site is used; text you type into form fields is masked in those recordings. PostHog keeps an identifier in a cookie that lasts a year and in your browser's local storage until you clear it.
- Meta pixel. The Meta pixel tells Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram)
which pages you view, when you book a consultation, and when you complete a payment. Meta
uses this to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads, and may connect it
with your Meta account under Meta's own privacy policy. The pixel stores identifiers in
cookies (such as
_fbp, and_fbcif you arrived from an ad). - Booking. Our booking page embeds Calendly. When you book a call, Calendly collects your name, email address and your answers to the booking questions, and sends them to us. Calendly may use its own cookies inside the booking widget. Before the calendar, the booking page asks four optional questions about your business: its type, a revenue range, how it tracks profit today and which of four common problems sound like you, with an Other box for your own words. Your answers go to PostHog and the Meta pixel as event properties, and to Calendly when the calendar loads and with your booking. The Other text goes to Calendly and PostHog only, never to the Meta pixel. Your browser keeps your answers and the Other text in local storage so this site remembers them, along with any campaign codes from the link you arrived on. The home page shows a line and a short section that match your answers. The booking page passes them to the calendar. The thank-you page shows one line about what to bring to the call.
Because of these tools, third parties, including Meta and PostHog, collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites. We use pixels, web beacons and other storage technologies from third parties, including Meta, to collect or receive information from this website, and those third parties use it, together with information from elsewhere on the internet, to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads. Section 12 explains how to opt out.
If you email or text us, we receive your message and your contact details. The website itself has no sign-up forms and sets no cookies of its own; it only keeps two short flags in your browser's session storage so a booking or purchase is counted once, and your answers to the booking page's questions in local storage.
3. When you buy
Payments are handled by Stripe on a Stripe-hosted page. Stripe collects your payment details and shares with us your name, business name, email address, website, the status of your payment and limited card details, such as the card brand, the last four digits and the billing postal code. We never receive your full card number. Stripe handles payment information under its own privacy policy.
4. When you use a dashboard
Each client's dashboard runs as its own deployment with its own database. For the people who sign in to it, we store:
- email address and name;
- a password hash, if you set a password (we never store the password itself);
- if you sign in with Google, the information described in section 6;
- if you turn on two-factor authentication, its secret, stored encrypted;
- a security log of sign-ins and account events, with the time and IP address;
- your settings and preferences.
If you send a problem report or feature request from inside the dashboard, we receive your message together with technical details that help us fix it: your account email, your browser's user agent, the app version, and the sync status of your data sources. These reports reach us by email.
5. Your business data
To build your dashboard, we process the business data you connect or enter ("Customer Data"): sales, refunds, fees, costs, ad spend, product costs, leads and payments. Depending on what you choose, it comes from Google Sheets you share with us, CSV files you upload, amounts you type in, and, where those connections are available to you, Shopify and QuickBooks Online (sections 6 to 8) and Meta ads. From Meta ads we read daily ad spend and currency for your ad account and the list of ad accounts the connection can see; nothing about people.
Customer Data can include personal information about your own customers, leads or vendors, for example a client's name or address on a lead, or a name in a spreadsheet note. We process it on your behalf and only to provide the Service to you. You are responsible for having the right to share it with us.
We store the figures and categories that make up your dashboard. For checking and troubleshooting, we also keep copies of the source data as it was last read: up to the 20 most recent versions of each report or page we read.
When you upload a file or connect a sheet, a full copy of it, every column, is held while you map it and is deleted when you confirm or cancel. If you leave an import unfinished, the copy can stay until a later upload clears it; tell us and we will remove it.
During setup and support we may also keep working copies of your spreadsheets in our own Google Drive and on our computers, and notes that include figures from your dashboard. We delete them when your Service ends, together with your dashboard.
6. Google data
- Google sign-in. If you sign in with Google, we ask Google only for your basic profile and email address. We keep your Google account identifier, email address and name to recognize you when you sign in. We do not keep any Google access token, and we do not use this information for anything except signing you in and contacting you about your account.
- Google Sheets. If you share a spreadsheet with our service account, the dashboard reads it to build your figures; it asks Google only for read access. We store what section 5 describes. You can stop this at any time by un-sharing the sheet.
- If setup needs a helper tab or column in your spreadsheet, we add it only with your permission, which needs edit access; you can switch our access back to view-only afterwards.
- If you connect a sheet by its published link instead, anyone with that link can read it; unpublish it to stop.
- Every dashboard reads Google Sheets through the same Margin Machine reader account, so keep your sheet links private.
- Google data is seen only by the people you allow to sign in to your dashboard and by us as described in section 11. We do not sell it or use it for advertising, and we share it only with the service providers in section 10 that help us run the Service. It is deleted as section 13 describes.
- If we ever want to use Google data in a new way, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
7. Shopify data
If you connect a Shopify store, you approve the Margin Machine app yourself on Shopify's own screen, or give us credentials from an app you created for your store in Shopify's developer dashboard. The app reads, and never changes:
- summary sales reports: daily totals for sales, discounts, returns, shipping and taxes, order counts, customer counts, and sales by channel;
- Shopify Payments balance transactions: fees, payouts, refunds, chargebacks and adjustments, with the order number each one belongs to.
We read summaries, not individual customer records, and we use this data only to show your profit in your own dashboard and to support you. We share it only with our hosting provider and, when fixing a problem, our AI providers, and we do not sell it. If you uninstall the app or your Service ends, we delete the data we read from Shopify within 30 days, including from our backups, unless the law requires us to keep it. You can ask us at any time for a copy of it in a machine-readable file, such as CSV, or to correct it.
8. QuickBooks data
If you connect QuickBooks Online, you sign in to Intuit and approve access yourself. The dashboard then reads your company's cash-basis profit and loss reports (summary and detail), balance sheet, bank and credit card ledger, customer payments, account list, company preferences and company information. These include the names of your customers and vendors and the memos on transactions, and we keep copies of them as section 5 describes.
- We use QuickBooks data only to show and check your figures in your own dashboard, and to support you. We process it for you, not on Intuit's behalf.
- It is seen only by the people you allow to sign in to your dashboard and by us as described in section 11. We share it only with our hosting provider.
- The dashboard only reads from QuickBooks. The permission Intuit offers for this kind of connection would also allow changes, but Margin Machine never creates, changes or deletes anything in your QuickBooks company.
- We do not sell QuickBooks data or use it for advertising. Our terms allow anonymous, aggregated QuickBooks information to be used by vendors for research and benchmarking, as Intuit requires of QuickBooks apps; we do not currently do this.
- If you disconnect from your dashboard, we revoke our access with Intuit and delete the stored keys at once; if you disconnect from inside QuickBooks, the dashboard deletes its stored keys the next time it checks. Figures already read stay in your dashboard's history until you ask us to delete them; we then securely delete them from your dashboard and its backups within 30 days.

9. How we use information
- To set up, run, maintain, secure and support the Service, including syncing and calculating your dashboard and fixing problems.
- To send you service messages, such as password reset emails, and to reply to you.
- To bill you through Stripe.
- To measure and improve this website and our advertising (section 2).
- To comply with the law and protect the Service, our clients and ourselves.
We do not use Customer Data to advertise to you or anyone else, and we do not use it to train our own artificial intelligence models.
11. Our access to your dashboard
Today, the only person at Invercible with access to client dashboards is our founder, Dan. Dan works in your dashboard to set it up, to check your first weeks of numbers against your own records, when you ask for help, and when something needs fixing.
If you add us as a support user, we can view your dashboard but not change it while your support switch is on (it starts on). Each day a support user views it, that view is recorded in a log you can see. When you turn the switch off, support users can no longer open your business.
Separately, as the operator we have administrative access to the systems that run your dashboard, including the hosting platform, the database and the dashboard's administrator sign-in. This access can view and change everything in your dashboard. We use it only to set up, maintain, repair and secure the Service, or when the law requires it. It is not limited by the support switch and does not appear in your dashboard's log.
13. How long we keep it
- While your Service is active, we keep your account information and Customer Data. Monthly figures are kept for the life of your dashboard.
- Backups. Your dashboard makes a nightly backup on its own encrypted disk. We keep the last 14 daily backups and one backup per month for 13 months. Our hosting provider also keeps its own encrypted daily snapshots for at least seven days.
- When your Service ends, we suspend your dashboard and keep its data for 90 days in case you come back or need a copy. After that we delete the dashboard, including its database and backups, and our working copies and notes, unless you ask us in writing to delete it sooner or to keep it longer. Our hosting provider's snapshots then expire on its own schedule.
- Shopify data is deleted within 30 days after you uninstall the app or your Service ends, including from our backups (section 7).
- QuickBooks figures you ask us to delete are deleted within 30 days, including from our backups (section 8).
- Security logs and problem reports are kept for the life of your dashboard and deleted with it. Problem reports also remain in our email for as long as we need them to support you.
- Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Website analytics and booking data are kept by PostHog, Meta and Calendly for the retention periods that apply to our accounts with them, and by us for as long as we need them to follow up with you.
14. Security
Connections use HTTPS. Each client has a separate deployment and database, on disks our hosting provider encrypts. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, two-factor authentication is available, and its secrets are encrypted. Access keys for connected services are kept as secrets in the hosting platform's settings or, for connections you approve yourself, encrypted in your dashboard's database. Sign-in attempts are rate limited. Our security page explains these measures in plain words.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information or your business data, we will tell you as the law requires.
15. Your choices and requests
- See, correct, export or delete. Email us and we will respond within 30 days. You can download your monthly figures and each month's entries from your dashboard at any time, and we can send a full copy of your data on request.
- Revoke a connection. You can end our access to any connected account from inside that account at any time. That stops future reads; data already read stays until it is deleted as described in section 13.
- Emails. We send service emails, such as password resets. We do not currently send marketing emails.
- Your state's privacy law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information. We will honor requests we receive as far as the law that applies to you requires, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
16. Children
The website and the Service are for businesses and adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
17. Who this is for and where data is stored
The website and the Service are intended for businesses in the United States. We store your account information and business data in the United States. Some of the companies in section 10, such as Meta, Stripe and our AI providers, may process information in other countries.
18. Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we change the dates at the top of this page. For a material change, we also email current clients before it takes effect, and where the law or a connected service requires it, we ask for your consent again.
